The Village Initiative
Founded in February 2024 by Abbey Tobolski, a Michiana native and devoted mother of two, The Village Initiative began as a simple Facebook group with a big mission: to offer home resets to women in the Michiana area who needed a fresh start. What started as a small community effort quickly grew into something remarkable.
Within just a few months, the group blossomed to over 1,000 members, receiving new nominations every week. By the end of 2024, The Village Initiative had established a core team of around 30 active volunteers and positively impacted the lives of 13 women and 32 children throughout Michiana.
Our mission is simple: to lift the physical and mental load of those who need it most. Through nominations, we connect with women who are feeling overwhelmed by the challenges of day-to-day life and step in to offer support, kindness, and practical help.
Our Services Include:
Home Resets: Cleaning and organizing to create a refreshed, welcoming space.
Laundry Trains: A pick-up and drop-off laundry service to lighten the load.
Meal Trains: Nutritious, home-cooked meals delivered to families in need.
At The Village Initiative, we are committed to being a judgment-free resource for the Michiana community. Our goal is to create a nurturing environment where every woman feels seen, supported, and never alone.
Join us in building a stronger, more connected community—because together, we are stronger.
